This 17" crash from Anatolian’s Baris series is a full, clear and dynamic crash cymbal with plenty of sound.
The Baris series is generally one of Anatolian’s cleaner and clearer-sounding series. The cymbals are hand-hammered, brilliant finished and have a more open and polished sound than many of Anatolian’s darker and drier series.
That also makes the Baris series popular among many rock and metal drummers, because you get a wide dynamic range, strong projection and a sound that is easy to place in a band setting.
This particular cymbal weighs 1254 grams, giving it a crash sound with good body all the way through. When you play a regular crash stroke on it, it feels well covered across the frequency range – without those gaps where you feel like you are missing either attack, body or sustain.
You get a clear attack, a good and controllable opening and a very nice sustain. It is easy to control, but still has plenty of volume when you dig in a little more with the stick.
All in all, a really good 17" crash for the drummer who wants clarity, body, dynamics and strong projection – but still with a pleasant and musical sound.
