Ahead

What is Ahead?

Ahead was founded in 1992 in California with one goal: listen to drummers and percussionists, and build gear that actually solves the problems we run into day to day. That's why the range is as broad as it is - Ahead doesn't think in "one category", but in all the kit a drummer needs beyond the drum set itself.

A wide, well thought-out range

Here you'll find Ahead's Switch Kick system, which lets you swap bass drum beaters in under 5 seconds, their popular DIY custom-moulded earplugs, tough Armor bags for cymbals and sticks, and a handful of the small things you only notice you're missing once they're gone - drum keys, cymbal felt, speed nuts and tension rods.

Switch Kick - Ahead's best-known system

Want to know more about the Switch Kick system? We have a dedicated Switch Kick page here, where you can read how it works and see the full range of beater heads.
