If you love a soft, airy crash with a warm, deep voice, read on!
This 17" Light Crash from Anatolian's Emotion series is unusually soft – you can feel it from the very first hit. It's a genuine pleasure to play.
Tonally, it's airy, warm and fairly complex, without tipping into trashy territory. That's partly down to the fact that it's relatively thin with a fairly flat profile, which brings out the deeper, lower end of the sound. It sits fairly low tonally too.
This cymbal shines best when you're not playing especially loud – that's where the airy voice really gets to unfold. In a very loud setting, it's probably not the right tool for the job.
Want to use it as a sort of mini-ride? Stick close to the bell. The cymbal is so soft and thin that the sound turns to mush if you ride too far out towards the edge.
All in all, a soft, deep and warm crash for anyone who loves an airy, complex voice without too much power behind the stroke.
