This Anatolian Ultimate 17" Crash has a medium weight and a lovely spring to it – you can feel it the moment you flex it gently in your hand. There's plenty of meat in the tone, without it ever feeling heavy or sluggish under the stick.

It's easy to activate and opens up willingly, and the dynamic range is wide – especially once you dig in a bit. Right down at the softest end it's maybe a touch less nuanced than it can be, but overall the Ultimate series still delivers one of the broadest dynamic ranges around, and that holds true here too.
