The Drum Mat's Structure
The top layer is made of durable 4mm velour. This layer can withstand both sun and water. This is also the layer with the characteristic Persian design.
The bottom layer - the foundation - is made of 2.5mm non-slip rubber. This layer prevents the mat from slipping and also ensures that the mat lies completely flat when it is folded out.
The mat also absorbs some of the vibrations from your playing. This makes it more comfortable to play on a drum riser as the riser will not vibrate as much and you can fully concentrate on your playing.
