Here we have one of the sought-after JC (Jazz Collection) ride cymbals from Anatolian, measuring 20 inches. Specifically, it's the Soft Dry Ride model. A cymbal with a relatively flat profile and a small bell, which is actually quite intriguing.
The small bell design prevents the cymbal from crashing too easily; however, the flatter profile has the opposite effect. The result is a cymbal that carries a touch of a flat ride's character, offering good control when you play with a staccato technique.
In a sense, one could describe the cymbal's sound as somewhat muted, meaning that it has a lot of attack and less sustain. This results in a highly articulate and clear cymbal sound.
As with most other JC cymbals, it's important to note that they don't project extremely loudly. So, if you're playing death metal, this might not be your top choice. But if your playing style falls within the soft to medium volume range, you're getting a truly delightful and intriguing cymbal here!
